Figma revenue and seat growth in the design market

Figma revenue reached $370.1 million in the second quarter of 2026. This amount shows a 48% increase compared to the same period last year. This growth marks the third consecutive quarter of accelerated year-over-year growth. In the first quarter of 2026, revenue reached $333.4 million, which was a 46% increase. The company grew its paid customer base to approximately 690,000 as of March 31, 2026. Paid customers with more than $10,000 in annual recurring revenue reached 15,964 as of June 30, 2026. This group grew 34% year-over-year. Paid customers with more than $100,000 in annual recurring revenue reached 1,635, which is a 46% increase over the previous year. Net Dollar Retention for the second quarter was 136%, which is a decrease from the 139% recorded in the first quarter. GAAP gross profit for the second quarter was $309.6 million, while non-GAAP gross profit was $314.0 million. The company holds $1.7 billion in cash, cash equivalents, and marketable securities as of June 30, 2026. This is an increase from the $1.6 billion held as of March 31, 2026. The Config conference brought 10,000 designers, product builders, and executive leaders to San Francisco.

Enterprise growth continues.

The company expands its usage through AI credit add-ons. Over 80% of paid customers with more than $10,000 in annual recurring revenue used AI credits weekly as of June 30, 2026. More than 50% of those same customers used the Figma agent on a weekly basis as of July 31, 2026. The Figma agent handles tasks like automating repetitive work or generating motion animations and shaders. The platform includes Code Layers, which turns static designs into interactive, code-backed prototypes.

AI tools drive expansion.

The Figma agent includes Skills, which let teams teach the agent their own processes, governance standards, and best practices. Generative plugins allow teams to build custom tools by prompting the agent. The company also introduced Figma Make, which allows users to build UI through prompts. The company reported that its first full quarter of AI credit monetization helped drive revenue growth as users increasingly integrated generative tools directly into their existing design workflows on the multiplayer canvas. Figma also has new expressive capabilities such as Motion, Shaders, and 3D Transforms.

Figma uses three seat types for its users. A Full seat gives access to Figma Design, Figma Make, Figma Draw, Figma Sites, Dev Mode, FigJam, Figma Slides, and Figma Buzz. Adobe XD and Sketch comparison

Adobe XD reached maintenance mode. Adobe stopped major feature investment and no longer sells XD as a standalone application to new customers. The product remains available only to existing Creative Cloud users. This decision followed the blocked $20 billion acquisition attempt by Adobe in 2022. Adobe paid Figma a $1 billion termination fee in December 2023. Adobe XD launched in 2016 and includes responsive layouts, interactive prototypes, repeat grids, and auto-animate transitions.

Sketch remains a macOS alternative. Sketch provides a vector-based system for designers. It includes a local MCP server that connects Claude, Codex, or other MCP-compatible AI tools to designs. Designers use Sketch for its minimalist interface and its massive plugin ecosystem. Sketch includes a minimap to navigate large documents and a command B tool. Sketch supports real-time teamwork and allows users to work offline with local files. A 30-day trial is available for new users.

Adobe XD is a legacy choice. You should avoid investing time in tools that developers no longer support.
