1. Get Jack’s Compass and Head for the Mythical Portal
After voting and speaking with the Castaway, Gibbs will hand over the compass to you. Shortly, you’ll embark on your adventure to find Jack Sparrow. If you look around the Outpost, you’ll find a portal that leads to the Sea of the Damned.
It should be on the East side of the Outpost. Jack’s compass can help you find it as well. Take everything you need, hoist your anchor, and head for the portal. Remember, no worldly possessions can pass through the portal.
So, sell whatever is worth selling before your voyage.
2. Pass through the Tunnel of the Damned to the Mysterious Bayou
The mythical portal leads you to the Tunnel of the Damned. Here, you can’t control your ship. It would be best if you allowed it to pass through the tunnel and into the scary bayou. In this place, your boat will sail slower automatically. But you can still hoist your sails as some winding paths, and sharp turns are ahead.
If you’re getting lost, refer to Jack’s compass for direction. Float your ship in a southern tip. At a point, you’ll reach a massive arch with a magical blockage at the passage. Two torches towards the West will light up as you come closer.
Halt your ship before the arch and take the path between the two torches. More torches will light up as you proceed till you get to a petite shipwreck. That’s the Blue Bayou. Collect the Flame of Souls; go to the East side, get over the tall hut, and climb up to the 2nd floor. Turn on your lantern and light the torches side-by-side at the door. Light the candles of the souls that will appear with candles in front of the hut.
By lighting all these candles, Tia Dalma will cast a spell that will drive a famous pirate to destroy the magical blockage. You can now sail through. On the other hand, you can search for journals, read them, and then continue your journey.
3. Light up the 5 Beacons and Defeat the Phantom Fleet
After you’re done with the fort of lost souls, you’ll need to light up five beacons for a creepy Phantom Fleet to appear. This fleet will build a blockage to the defense. You’ll need to defeat this Phantom Fleet to continue.
Black Dog Briar is the head of the fleet. He’s also searching for Captain Jack to get his treasure. He’ll send his crew to challenge you, defeat them and face Black Dog Briar. If you defeat him, he’ll leave with his team, allowing you to complete the commendation of the Captain of Memories.
Upon defeating the Phantom Fleet, take your ship and head South East as two beacons will light up automatically. This will sail you into an extensive cave that leads to Isla Tesoro. If you feel lost, you can always use Jack’s compass to find your way.
4. Continue the Tall Tale or Strike Yer Colours
You can descend as you sail into the raided Isla Tesoro, attacked by a creepy pirate ship. Going right will let you continue the Tall Tale; meanwhile, going left is where you can complete the “Strike Yer Colours” commendation.
To complete the commendation, fire a cannonball at the ghosty ship. If you’re playing in a crew, firing at the ghost ship simultaneously will also meet the recognition.
On the other hand, if you head right inland, you’ll meet some ghosts drowning Carlos. On the lip of the well where Carlos is being soaked, you’ll discover the Mercado Key. Picking it up and taking it up gets you the Treasure for Eternity commendation.
5. Complete Commendations, Escape Isla Tesoro, and reach the Tavern of the Damned.
As you sail and follow the lighting torches, you will receive a few commendations. Complete them as you go. Some awards include Key to Freedom, Treasured Hoard, Charting a New Destiny, Captain of the Damned, Lost Memories, Forgotten Memories, Strike Yer Colors, etc.
After completing the commendations, you’ll need to escape from Isla Tesoro town and sail to the Tavern of the Damned. Follow the Cursed Captain into the tavern and let the show begin.
